Hey Friend!

Happy Wednesday and welcome to another Wake Up Wednesday!

Non Duality: Everything You Need to Know ☯️

Non-duality is the most devious thing ever. It’s supposed to serve the great escape but mostly serves the great entrenchment.

Many of us, when we have reached the point of non-duality during our years of spiritual searching, think that’s it. We’ve reached the end. Non-duality is the truth we’ve been looking for.

But non-duality is not a destination.

It’s not a destination because it simply is what is. Nonetheless, for our purposes, namely seeing through delusion, deception, and falsehood, non-duality is another thing.

Infinite Jest 🀣

"That certain persons simply will not like you no matter what you do.
...
That no matter how smart you thought you were, you are actually way less smart than that.
...
That sleeping can be a form of emotional escape and can with sustained effort be abused.
...
That purposeful sleep-deprivation can also be an abusable escape. That gambling can be an abusable escape, too, and work, shopping, and shoplifting, and sex, and abstention, and masturbation, and food, and exercise, and meditation/prayer
...
That you do not have to like a person in order to learn from him/her/it. That loneliness is not a function of solitude.
...
That some people really do steal -- will steal things that are yours.
...

That logical validity us not guarantee of truth. That evil people never believe they are evil, but rather that everyone else is evil. That it is possible to learn valuable things from a stupid person. That it takes effort to pay attention to any one stimulus for more than a few seconds.
...
That boring activities become, perversely, much less boring if you can concentrate intently on them.
...
That sometimes human beings have to just sit in one place and, like, hurt. That you will become way less concerned with what other people think of you when you realize how seldom they do.
...
That concentrating intently on anything is very hard work.
...
That it is simply more pleasant to be happy than to be pissed off. That 99% of compulsive thinkers' thinking is about themselves; that 99% of this self-directed thinking consists of imagining and getting ready for things that are going to happen to them; and then, weirdly, that if they stop to think about it, that 100% of the things they spend 99% of their time and energy imagining and trying to prepare for all the contingencies and consequences of are never good.
...
In short that 99% of the head's thinking activity consists of trying to scare the everliving shit out if itself.
...
That the people to be most frightened of are the people who are the most frightened. That it takes great personal courage to let yourself appear weak.
...
That no single, individual moment is in and of itself unendurable.
...
That the clichΓ© 'I don't know who I am' unfortunately turns out to be more than a clichΓ©.
...
That other people can often see things about you that you yourself cannot see, even if those people are stupid.
...
That 'acceptance' is usually more a matter of fatique than anything else.
...
That, perversely, it is often more fun to want something than to have it.
...
That everybody is identical in their secret unspoken belief that way deep down they are different from everyone else.
...
That God -- unless you're Charlton Heston, or unhinged, or both -- speaks and acts entirely through the vehicle of human beings, if there is a God."

― David Foster Wallace, Infinite Jest

Wishing The Way Away πŸ›£

Always somewhere
Always going somewhere else
From here to there
From there to here
Is it there?
Is it here?
Never stopping
Never questioning
No matter where
No matter who
The hope for control
The hope for arrival
Forever
Wishing you were there
Forever
Wishing the way away

Quote πŸ“œβ€‹

"So long as men praise you, you can only be sure that you are not yet on your own true path but on someone else’s." ― Friedrich Nietzsche

Hey Friend! Happy Wednesday and welcome to another Wake Up Wednesday! The Perfect Human Being - A Short Story 🌟 This is a short story I have recently written that exemplifies how we keep ourselves in a never-ending chase and what the break from that chase can look like. I haven't included the whole story in this email as I feel it's a little bit too much for an email. Feel free to read the beginning below and if the story caught you, you can read the rest on my website. If you want to read...

Hey Friend! Happy Wednesday and welcome to another Wake Up Wednesday! No One Knows Anything About You πŸ›Έ If you want to read this short essay in a browser, click here: No One Knows Anything About You We have this tendency to conceptualize and contextualize our experiences. We want to know why what is happening is happening. So we go out and seek answers, whether it's about emotions, thoughts, specific aspects of spiritual awakening, or other experiences.I'm aware of this because I have been on...
